Rooted & Rising Youth Retreat

Rooted & Rising is a two‑day youth retreat designed for Eritrean Muslim youth ages 15–22 to connect with Allah (swt), build meaningful community, and experience wellness in a nurturing, nature‑centered environment. Through guided reflection, group activities, mentorship, and time in nature, participants will deepen their sense of identity, faith, and belonging while forming bonds that last far beyond the retreat.

The Venture Retreat Center is located among the redwoods on a 22‑acre campus in Pescadero, offering a peaceful, secluded setting designed for groups seeking reflection, community building, and personal growth. Its mission-driven, nonprofit foundation emphasizes accessibility, healing, and community connection, making it an especially strong partner for youth-focused retreats like ours.

Laptop Scholarship
A reliable laptop is an essential for any college experience. As a foundation we recognize, and Selam knew firsthand, that securing a laptop can be a challenge without the support of others.
That’s why we have partnered with SDSU’s East African Student Association to help a student secure a new laptop for the upcoming school year.
This scholarship is meant to support a student in need that is able to articulate who they are and why we should invest in them.

Built two water wells in Somalia, giving thousands of people and livestock access to clean water.

Sponsored the reopening of a school in Ajordat, Eritrea which included bringing in a new teacher and building a wudu station.

August 2023
Awarded Quran scholarships to two individuals, good for weekly classes for 6-12 months each.
